PROBLEM:During extended push stalemates, the original hobby ESC would thermal-shutdown after roughly 20 seconds of sustained full load.

TEST:Bench-tested current draw and case temperature under simulated stall conditions for 60 seconds continuous.

ENGINEERING CHANGE:Designed a custom ESC with a larger heatsink and higher continuous current rating specifically for stall-heavy sumo loads.

✓ RESULT: Zero thermal shutdowns across a full tournament day of matches.

Single-Sensor Ring-Out Miss

PROBLEM:The original single-line perimeter sensor missed boundary approaches from the robot's rear-left corner, causing an accidental ring-out.

TEST:Mapped sensor coverage angle against the full 360° approach envelope using a marked practice ring.

ENGINEERING CHANGE:Added a second line sensor on the opposite chassis corner for full-perimeter coverage.

✓ RESULT: No further blind-spot ring-outs recorded in 40 subsequent practice bouts.
